Guides and bulbuls

The PRATT MEMORIAL SCHOOL GUIDE GROUP consists of The Bulbul Flock & The Guide Company.
Bulbuls are girls in the age group of 5 to 10 years, where as Guides are girls in the age group of 10 to 18 years of age.
The PMS Guide Group was originally founded many years ago, but there was a long period, when the school did not have Guides or Bulbuls. It was in 1973, that the school re-started the Bulbul Flock & Guide Company.
Being a Bulbul & then a Guide, helps young girls in many ways… They develop habits which lead to a good character, contributing towards an all round development. Bulbul-Craft & Guide-Craft skills help inculcate a love of service, adventure, creativity, nature & the outdoors among other things.
It helps develop respect for their elders & those younger than them & their peers. It develops feelings of loyalty, trust, love for nature, National Integration, religious tolerance, responsibility & encourages leadership qualities & good sportsmanship too.
This noble organisation was founded by Lord Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell, as the Scout Movement in the year 1907. The GIRL GUIDE Movement was officially started in the year 1910 under his sister Agnes Baden-Powell.
